Today's young inventors are tomorrow's technological and entrepreneurial leaders. The $50,000 Intellectual Ventures-Caltech Invention Competition seeks to recognize and inspire these budding innovators and inventors with a first prize of $25,000 and smaller, runner up prizes.

The prizes of the Intellectual Ventures-Caltech Invention Competition will be awarded to Caltech undergraduate or graduate students who have created a product or process, applied a technology in a new way, or demonstrated remarkable inventiveness. Students will gain invaluable exposure to the science, business, and investment communities through participation in this competition.

All ideas should be novel and invented by the contestants. They should not be directly based on any previous work done at Caltech or any other institution. Please identify any existing technology that the idea builds on or requires for implementation.

Eligibility Requirements & Rules
The competition is open to all Caltech undergraduate and graduate students who will be enrolled full-time in the fall 2013 semester. Click here for official rules.
